North by Northwest
1959 | Thriller | USA | Directed by Alfred Hitchcock
Overview
An ad man is mistaken for a spy who does not exist and chased across America by a cropduster and a Mount Rushmore climax. The wrong man plot Hitchcock perfected, with Grant in the suit and Eva Marie Saint running the double game. The cropduster attack built suspense from empty landscape and silence. The direct ancestor of every action thriller since.
