Overview
Malcolm McDowell as Alex, a Beethoven loving hoodlum, is conditioned by the state out of choosing evil, and the cure becomes its own crime. Kubrick London of the near future, milk bars and white decor, violence staged as ballet. Adapted from the Burgess novel, with the Singin in the Rain riff improvised. Kubrick withdrew it from British release for decades, deepening the legend. Free will as the horror question.
