Halloween
1978 | Horror | USA | Directed by John Carpenter
Overview
Michael Myers escapes an asylum on Halloween and stalks babysitters in Haddonfield. Carpenter shot it in twenty days for three hundred thousand with a piano score he wrote, inventing slasher economics: point of view kills, the final girl, and Jamie Lee Curtis. Grossed seventy million on that budget. Every slasher since follows this template.
