My Neighbor Totoro
1988 | Animation | Japan | Directed by Hayao Miyazaki
Overview
Two girls move to the countryside to be near their sick mother and find the forest full of spirits: a giant grey creature who waits at bus stops in the rain. Miyazaki makes a childrens film with no villain at all, where wonder replaces danger. The Catbus alone would secure immortality. Studio Ghiblis logo and the gentlest masterpiece of animation.
