Tokyo Story
1953 | Drama | Japan | Directed by Yasujiru Ozu
Overview
An elderly couple visit their grown children in Tokyo, who are too busy for them. Ozu shoots from tatami height, rarely moving the camera, and breaks the heart with restraint. The parents return home, time passes, loss arrives. The 2012 Sight and Sound critics poll named it the greatest film ever made. Grief at the speed of life.
