Blade Runner
1982 | Sci-Fi | USA | Directed by Ridley Scott
Overview
Replicants, rain, neon, and a detective who might be what he hunts. Scott layered dystopia so densely that five cuts exist and fans fight over each. The Rutger Hauer monologue in the rain, partly written on set, is the poetry of the genre. The Vangelis score hums under everything. Flopped initially, then colonized the future: no cyberpunk visual since is unindebted.
