Dr. Strangelove
1964 | Comedy | UK | Directed by Stanley Kubrick
Overview
Kubrick found the only honest genre for nuclear war: farce. Peter Sellers plays three roles, including the wheelchair bound strategist whose arm salutes on its own. George C. Scott chews scenery by directorial decree, and Slim Pickens rides the bomb into history. The Doomsday Machine plot is logic taken to hell. Black comedy landmark, quoted in war rooms ever since.
