It Happened One Night
1934 | Comedy | USA | Directed by Frank Capra
Overview
A runaway heiress and a cynical reporter share a bus, a motel room divided by a blanket wall, and the fastest courtship in movies. First film to sweep the five major Academy Awards. Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert invented screwball chemistry, and Gable reportedly sold undershirts into a slump by not wearing one. The blueprint for romantic comedy, still unmatched.
